  • Required Trainings

    • Just a quick reminder that required trainings must be completed by September 15, 2026. 

    • These trainings help ensure that all employees understand what to do in certain situations. Please check with your building principal before taking the suicide module. Some buildings may have a separate suicide training in lieu of the GCN training. They vary based on employee assignment and are as follows:

      ALL staff Certified Staff Special Education and Food Service Staff
      • Bloodborne pathogens
      • Confidentiality
      • Title IX
      • Suicide
      • Civil Rights

       

    • To take the trainings login here.

      • Type carbon2 and then enter your user ID. (If you forgot or do not have your user ID, click on the red box below the submit button). The system will have you confirm your job title and department. Once that is done then it will take you to the trainings you need to complete. Click on the green buttons to start and don't panic about getting kicked out of the videos or needing to take a break, it will keep track of where you left off.

    • No one needs to turn in certificates as the system keeps track of all employee GCN trainings.

  • Monday, September 21, 2026 – 7:30AM-3:30 PM
    • Sources of Strength Adult Advisor & Peer Leader Training led by National Sources of Strength Trainers.
    • Platte Valley Community Center (PVCC)
    • Snack and lunch will be provided
    • This training is a great opportunity to learn more about Sources of Strength, a strengths-based prevention program focused on building connection resilience, and positive support within our schools and communities.
    • Interested in Learning but can’t attend all day?
      • We would still love to have you join us! If you are unable to attend the full training, please plan to attend the morning session from 7:30-11:30AM to learn more about Sources of Strength and how you can become involved.
    • Peer Leader Training
      • Student is grades 7-12 who are nominated and choose to become Sources of Strength Peer Leaders will be excused from classes on Monday, September 21 from 11:00AM-3:30PM to participate in the training.
      • Please note: Attending this training does not automatically mean that you will become an Adult Advisor. Adult Advisors are selected through a nomination process the training ia an opportunity to learn about the program, understand the Adult Advisor role, and deterine whether Sources of Strength is a good fit for you.

5 Pillars of the Mentor Corp partnered with University of Wyoming

These sessions are mandatory for first year teachers, highly recommended for second year teachers and optional for all other staff members. They weill be held at the Platte Valley Community Center from 4:30-5:30 PM with the option to Google Meet into the meeting. Trainings will be as follows:

  • TBA: Qualify Feedback
  • TBA: Work / Life Balance
  • TBA: Building and Maintaining Relationships

If you are a new teacher to our district, your mentor will reach out to you about the details of these workshops. It will be a working session  where we will dig deeper into the monthly topic to offer support and guidance for a greater career experience.
